Boa Vista
Boa Vista, just a short flight from Sal, is an Island covered with Sand dunes, thus creating a lunar landscape. Boa Vista is the most eastern Island of Cape Verde has over 55km of beautiful white beaches and crystal clear waters, Santa Monica beach being the most celebrated
The main tourist centre is Sai Rei; life revolves around the main harbour. The town is in the process of being developed and renovated, with attractive squares being created.
Boa Vista is 3 times larger than Sal but has a much smaller population and is certainly further behind in the terms of infrastructure but the new international airport is now finished and is awaiting certification. International flights should commence summer of 2007. The Rui Group has suggested that construction of a new hotel with European standards to be completed in the next few years will commence shortly.
In terms of property development, Boa Vista offers fantastic beaches and has a more diverse landscape than Sal, the international airport in addition to the construction of international standard hotels, suggest that tourism will increase dramatically.
